Northernmost seat of the westerlands, a coastal stronghold of House Banefort looking out across the waters toward the Iron Islands. Its walls have borne the brunt of ironborn raids since before the coming of the Andals.
The Hooded Men
The Baneforts trace their line to the Hooded Man, a figure of dread in the oldest tales of the west, and hooded men adorn their banners still. In elder days the lords of Banefort were said to take the heads of their foes and bind their captives in thralldom, and their neighbors held them in fear as much as fellowship.
Watch Upon the Isles
No seat of the west stands nearer to the ironborn, and the Banefort's beacon towers are ever manned against the sight of longships. When the krakens stir, it is the Banefort that burns first, and its lords have learned hard vigilance across the centuries.
