The Gate of the West
The Golden Tooth commands the only good pass through the hills that wall the westerlands from the riverlands, and no host may march between the two without first winning it. Many a war has begun beneath its gates, and the lords of the west have long counted the Leffords among their first line of defense.
The Hill Road
Merchants, wayfarers, and armies alike must climb the winding hill road that passes beneath the Tooth's watchtowers. Its garrison keeps the road and takes its tolls, and the wealth of the mine keeps the castle strong despite its modest size.
