Hoarfrost Hill is one of the abandoned castles of the Night's Watch, standing on the Wall between Stonedoor and Icemark. Its name speaks plainly of the country it guards, where frost silvers the stones for the better part of the year.
Left to the Frost
Like its sister castles, Hoarfrost Hill was built to shelter a garrison, not to withstand a siege, with no walls of its own to face the south. When the Watch could no longer fill its halls the castle was given up, and the hoarfrost that named it now claims its empty keeps, creeping over hearths that have not known fire in long years.
