Seat of House Tarly, raised upon a great wooded hill in the foothills of the Red Mountains, above the headwaters that feed the Honeywine. Its lands guard the southern marches of the Reach against Dorne, and its lords are reckoned among the finest soldiers the Reach has ever bred.
Heartsbane
Within the walls of Horn Hill is kept Heartsbane, a greatsword of Valyrian steel that has passed from father to son for five hundred years. The huntsman of Tarly marches beneath it in every war of consequence, and the sword has made the fortunes of the house as surely as its forests and its game.
The Marches
The hunting runs of Horn Hill climb into the Red Mountains themselves, where the lords Tarly have long kept watch on the passes. More than one Dornish raid has broken against the huntsman's spears before ever reaching the soft green country below.
