Seat of House Melcolm on the eastern coast of the Vale, where the land meets the narrow sea south of Gulltown. Its name recalls the sea trade and the ships that have sheltered beneath its walls since the days of the Andal kings.
The Coast Road
Old Anchor watches over the coastal approaches to the Vale, its towers marking the shore for sailors beating up toward Gulltown or south toward the Bay of Crabs. The Melcolms have held it time out of mind, quiet and steadfast bannermen of the Eyrie, their fortunes rising and falling with the traffic of the sea.
