Seat of House Greyjoy, lords of the Iron Islands, raised upon broken stacks of stone where a headland once thrust into the sea. So ancient is Pyke that no man can say who built it; the isle itself has taken the castle's name.
The Broken Castle
The sea long ago devoured the land beneath Pyke, leaving its keeps stranded upon bare pillars of rock. The Great Keep, the Bloody Keep, and the Sea Tower each crown their own stack, joined one to another by swaying bridges of rope and wood. In storms the spray breaks over the walls themselves, and the whole castle seems to groan like a ship at sea.
The Seastone Chair
In the great hall stands the Seastone Chair, a throne carved in the shape of a kraken from a block of oily black stone. From it the Greyjoys have ruled the isles since the ironborn raised them up at the choosing that followed the fall of House Hoare.
