Seat of House Blackwood in the vale that bears their name, held since the Age of Heroes when the Blackwoods ruled as kings over much of the riverlands. Alone among the great houses south of the Neck, the lords of Raventree keep the old gods still.
The Dead Weirwood
In the heart of the godswood stands a weirwood of enormous girth, dead these thousand years. The Blackwoods say the Brackens poisoned it in the dark of night, though the Brackens deny the deed. Dead or no, the tree is never bare, for at dusk hundreds of ravens come to roost upon its white branches, as they have every night beyond the memory of men. The smallfolk hold it an omen, though none agree on what it portends.
