Small port town where the Trident empties into the Bay of Crabs, named for the salt pans worked along its shore since days beyond counting. A modest keep above the harbor houses House Cox, whose lords hold the town.
Mouth of the Trident
All the trade that comes down the great river passes Saltpans before it reaches the sea, and fisherfolk, salters, and river sailors crowd its quays. The town has no walls to speak of, and its keep is small; in troubled times its people have only the water and the goodwill of stronger neighbors to shield them, and the riverlands' troubles have a way of flowing downstream.
