Seat of House Flint of Widow's Watch, standing at the tip of the broad cape that is the easternmost point of the North, where the land thrusts out between the Shivering Sea and the waters of the Bite. No seat in the kingdom lies farther from Winterfell, nor closer to the sunrise.
Ever Vigilant
The castle keeps watch over the eastern sea for sails out of Essos and the Sisters, and the Flints who hold it have made vigilance their creed. Its name recalls the widows said to have stood upon its towers, watching for husbands the sea never returned.
