Sandoq's blade is a curved Valyrian-steel sword borne by Sandoq the Shadow, the silent giant who served as sworn shield to the wealthy House Rogare of Lys during the regency of King Aegon III. A man of few words and fewer mercies, Sandoq was reckoned among the deadliest blades in the Seven Kingdoms while the Rogares held power at court.
When the Lysene bank failed and the family's fortunes collapsed, Sandoq vanished from the histories, and his rare blade with him.
