House Cafferen of Fawnton holds its seat in the stormlands, sworn to House Baratheon of Storm's End. The house's arms, two white fawns counter-salient on green, are old enough that a Ser Jon Cafferen already stood as heir to Fawnton during the First Dornish War, when he was gelded by the Wyl of Wyl at his own wedding to Alys Oakheart.
Centuries later, during Robert's Rebellion, Lord Cafferen at first held for the Targaryen cause. He was among the lords whom Houses Fell and Grandison meant to join at Summerhall, but Lord Robert Baratheon defeated each of them in turn before they could combine their strength. Cafferen afterward came over to Robert's side, only to fall fighting for him at the Battle of Ashford, where Lord Randyll Tarly struck off his head and sent it to King Aerys II Targaryen.
